Rare Disease Day 

When: 28th February 2022

Where: All over the world!

What: Rare Disease Day takes place on the last day of February each year. The main objective of the day is to raise awareness amongst the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients' lives.

Disabled Living Exhibitions 


  • Kidz to Adultz Middle: 17th March
  • Kidz to Adultz South: 17th May
  • Kidz to Adultz Wales & West: 7th July
  • Kidz to Adultz Scotland (held every 3 years): 8th September
  • Kidz to Adultz North: 1st November

Where: Various locations throughout the UK 

What: Organised by Disabled Living, these are five of the largest, free UK exhibitions totally dedicated to children and young adults aged up to 25 years with disabilities and additional needs, their parents, carers and professionals who work with them.

Rise Expo

When: 22nd June 2022

Where: Maidstone, Kent (also available to access virtually online)

What: Get practical advice, learn from speakers, research some of the leading and latest innovations in disability equipment provision.

When: 6th - 7th July 2022 

Where: NEC, Birmingham

What: Naidex is Europe’s most established event for supporting independent living, showcasing wide-ranging solutions to improve mobility and accessibility, the latest innovations and tech, and explores the future of digital and physical accessibility. The event is for anyone who is living with a health condition or impairment, as well as anyone caring for or supplying to this community. Their event features suppliers, seminars and panels, and a host of interactive features - this year there is also a section dedication to disabled children.


Disability Awareness Day 

When: Sunday 17th July 2022

Where: Walton Hall Gardens in Warrington

What: Disability Awareness Day ("DAD") is the world's largest 'not for profit' voluntary-led disability exhibition, held annually in a huge tented village within the grounds of Walton Hall Gardens in Warrington. Visitors to the free show will find over 200 exhibitors, equipment suppliers, transport, holidays, leisure, employment, support groups and services. Plus a Sports Zone including Scuba diving, an Arts Marqee and family entertainment.

Mersea Island Festival

Where: Mersea Island, Essex

What: The Mersea Island Festival brings together children, young people and adults with or without a physical or learning disability. The Festival provides an opportunity to try out new activities, make new friends and have fun!

Wheelpower Sports Events 

When: Various dates

Where: Various locations or virtual events

What: Wheelpower organise an annual programme of events for children, young people and adults, including: Primary and Junior Sports camps, Get Active camps, and National Junior Games.

Family Fund

What: Family Fund is the UK’s largest charity providing grants for families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people.

Motability Events 

When and Where: 

  • 20th and 21st May -
    NEC, Birmingham
  • 23rd July -
    Westpoint, Exeter
  • 13th August - Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate
  • 17th September - Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh

What: All the events bring everything available on the Motability Scheme together in great accessible locations, to make joining the Scheme as easy and informed as possible. They’re free to attend and include: a huge display of cars, WAVs, adaptations and scooters; opportunities to test drive adapted and non-adapted cars; Motability Scheme advisors available to chat to.
