What: SMA UK’s biggest challenge event, Ride Scorpion, was due to take place on 30th May 2020 but has sadly had to be cancelled due to COVID-19.
The cancellation of this event alone reduces SMA UK’s income by £30,000 and whilst the charity’s income declines, its services for people with Spinal Muscular Atrophy must continue.
The Virtual Ride Scorpion event means you can cycle your own route within Government guidelines and still donate to, or raise sponsorship for, SMA UK. You may like to choose your own 20 or 50-mile route - the lengths of the two official routes of Ride Scorpion - or choose any length to challenge yourself.
There will be a special Ride Scorpion 2020 medal to all who complete their own virtual cycle ride and donate or raise sponsorship for SMA UK!
When: You may like to cycle on 30th May, the date of the original event, or any other date that suits you!
How much does it cost? SMA UK will not be charging an entry fee for this event and will supply a medal to everyone who participates and donates or raises sponsorship.
