A shared moment of connection, visibility and support for the SMA community
Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a rare genetic condition causing progressive muscle weakness, affecting mobility, strength and daily life. It can affect adults, babies and children, and impacts each person in a different way.1,2
SMA: Stronger Together responds to a sometimes overlooked reality in SMA care: while care, treatment and support options have evolved over time, some people affected by SMA may still be missing out on important support.2,3,4
There are a wider range of services available for people with SMA than ever before, from community networks and emotional support to practical help and specialist care.2,3 When people understand what’s available, they’re better able to navigate what’s right for them.
Needs are personal and change over time, but, with the right care and support in place, people living with SMA can live as full a life as possible.2
Sometimes all it takes is a spark: a story, a moment of recognition, a hand reaching out.

Gary
"Support to me is about consistency, it’s about the people that show up for me every single day, not just when things get tough"
Molly
"True support to me is the peace of mind that comes from trust. When I know my son is thriving in someone else's care, it transforms my day from one of worry to one of complete confidence"
