Hassan has been involved with SMA community since 2014 when his daughter was diagnosed with SMA type 2.

Hassan was a trustee of Jennifer Trust, Sma Support UK and Sma UK (2014-2020); and involved in Sma Europe and Sma Foundation during the same period. He has participated in awareness and fundraising activities including running in half and full marathons.

Hassan has a PhD in molecule biology; and used to work as researcher in the past. This helped him understand the science behind SMA breakthroughs and he has attended many SMA conferences.

Hassan’s current activities are in the legal and lingual fields.
