From January – February 2024, the House of Commons Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Committee launched an online survey. This aimed to inform its inquiry looking at what Government can do to ensure disabled people have access to accessible and adaptable housing in England.

The House of Commons produced the report ‘Disabled People in the Housing Sector’ on May 24th 2024. It had recommendations to government which had two months to respond.  The July election will have impacted on this timeline.

The Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (LUHC) Committee launched an online survey for its inquiry looking at what Government can do to ensure disabled people have access to accessible and adaptable housing in England.

The results of this survey informed the report Disabled People in the Housing Sector’ produced by the  House of Commons  on 24th May 2024. It had recommendations to government which had two months to respond.  The July election will have impacted on this timeline.

Following consultation, in February 2024, the Government’s Disability Action Plan set out the immediate actions it said it will take in 2024 to improve disabled people’s everyday lives and lays the foundations for longer-term change.

In January 2021, the UK Rare Disease Framework was published by the Government. This identified four key priorities to be addressed if continued improvement in services and support for the approximately 1 in 17 UK citizens affected by a rare disease is to be realised in the lifetime of this Framework.
