Ally has been involved with SMA UK for the last eleven years as her eldest son was diagnosed with SMA type 3 before his 2nd Birthday. She received support from SMA UK from the outset and says, “They were our light at the end of a very dark tunnel.”
Over the years the family have helped to organise fundraising events for SMA UK by either holding Coffee & Cake days, Christmas Sparkle Events, Bunny on the Brum, Christmas on the Brum, Christmas jumper day at school as well as buying Christmas cards and merchandise. They have attended lots of social events and conferences and have made great friendships along the way.
Ally is now delighted to be working as Support Grant Officer within the Outreach Support Services Team, supporting other families with applications and grants to help ease the pressures of living with a disability.
