Katharine first became involved with the SMA Community when her god daughter (now a highly successful disability rights activist) was diagnosed with SMA 2 in 1997. She is finance professional having been CFO and COO at Sage publishing and more recently CEO of an Edtech business. She is a chartered accountant and an MBA and spent the early part of her career in PwC. Katharine was appointed as Treasurer to SMA UK in September 2019 and enjoys using  her financial and commercial skills to assist the community.
