Lauren works in the charity sector, specialising in campaigns, political influencing and advocacy. She has a particular interest in young disabled peoples’ involvement in campaigns and lobbying, and previously ran a large network of young campaigners at Muscular Dystrophy UK. Currently Lauren works at an INGO, Sightsavers, as their Parliamentary Advisor.

Lauren has a master’s degree in Disability Studies with a particular interest in the different global social and economic approaches to disability.

Lauren was diagnosed with SMA Type 2 in 1993 and has been involved with SMA UK since their days as The Jennifer Trust. Originally from Cardiff, Lauren now lives in London with her partner.
