Mark has been involved with the SMA Community for almost 20 years following the diagnosis of a close friend’s son with SMA Type 3. To begin with, he raised money on behalf of The Jennifer Trust and then The SMA Trust by participating in a number of events including running the Reykjavik and Sydney marathons. Subsequently he became a Trustee of The SMA Trust and then served as its chairman until 2015.

Mark spent 35 years in the Financial Services sector recently retiring from Barclays at the end of 2019. During his last 5 years with Barclays he was based in Asia as the regional Head of Markets and the Country Manager of Barclays Japan.

Mark was appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees of SMA UK in March 2020
