Could you use your unique skills, share your perspectives and experiences, and give your time to make a difference in the lives of people living with SMA? We are committed to providing meaningful and impactful opportunities for individuals to contribute their time and passion to support our mission to enhance the lives of all those affected by SMA.
Founded in 1985, Spinal Muscular Atrophy UK works to ensure that everyone affected by SMA has access to the best care, support and treatment and that there are no barriers preventing full inclusion in society.
- Welcome you to the SMA UK Volunteer team
- Offer any appropriate training that could support your time as a volunteer
- Support you to maintain your volunteer role, whilst giving you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills working with others in the SMA community
- Supply you with appropriately branded items depending upon your volunteering role
- For your time and enthusiasm, we will reimburse all expenses incurred when fulfilling tasks on behalf of SMA UK
- Contributing to and reviewing information
- Moderating on a WhatsApp Network
- Helping to facilitate in-person events
- Helping to achieve success at fundraising events
- Supporting the charity to raise awareness of SMA
- Assisting in SMA UK’s campaigns and advocacy
- Becoming a trustee
- To fulfil SMA UK’s mission, purpose and values
- To respect SMA UK’s policies, procedures and all operational guidance
- To work as part of the volunteer team
- To be willing to share your details for an enhanced DBS
- To take part in activities, respecting and valuing your commitment to your volunteering role
- To be friendly, helpful, reliable, and committed to helping the SMA community
