Join us in celebrating SMA UK’s 40 year anniversary in 2025.

Since our founding in 1985, there have been huge advances in diagnosing, treating and living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy.  SMA UK has played a vital role in supporting families and individuals living with the condition, as well as funding life changing research and campaigning on all issues facing the Community.

Although there have been many positive developments, there is still a lot to be done to ensure that we can fulfil our mission of Supporting, Advocating and Informing for the SMA Community.

We would especially like to pay tribute to all those we have heartbreakingly lost to SMA over the years and their families who continue to support our vital work today.

From providing emotional and practical support and financing research into SMA, to advocating for treatments and funding specialist equipment, we have worked hard to assist the SMA community backed by the generosity of our supporters and donors. The team at SMA UK look forward to celebrating our 40 years and will continue to work with our community as well as our supporters and donors to ensure we build a future together."
