Maryann grew up with a sister who was diagnosed with SMA Type 2 at a very young age. She is familiar with the challenges facing individuals diagnosed with SMA, such as housing, management of care, and financial support – areas she is keen to look into with SMAUK.

For many years, Maryann worked in corporate and investment banking; firstly in Paris, France, for six years, followed by London, UK, for 9 years. After stints with her family in San Francisco, CA, and Geneva Switzerland, where she was involved in organising school events and fundraising projects, she is now working as a consultant for an agri-tech start-up that focuses on environmentally friendly agricultural equipment and processes.

Maryann is looking forward to helping the organization develop.
