Image shows man in a wheelchairIn April this year, Steven Jones, who you may recognise from some of our Podcasts, is taking on the exciting challenge of  what is billed as the fastest Ziplining experience in the world, in North Wales, all to raise funds and awareness of SMA.  We asked him to share his thoughts on how he his feeling and what has motivated him to sign up for this exhilarating event.

Steven says; “I am taking on this challenge for SMA UK. I must admit it’s not fully dawned on me that I have signed up to do it. I’ll be lying down on a zip line that could reach speeds of up to 100mph! The good news is I’ve roped my good friend David into the event too!

I chose to do this because I live with SMA and I wanted to support the fantastic work of SMA UK. Having a muscle-wasting condition you can feel a bit out of control – you don’t know how much or how quickly your condition will decline. SMA UK provides support and hope. They provide access to a wide network of people who are also living with the condition, offer vital financial support, and deliver extensive guidance and information to help individuals and families navigate life with SMA. They also campaign tirelessly for a better future for the SMA community. Taking part in this sponsored event is a small token of my support in return. Every donation matters – even £1 makes a difference.”
