You may have noticed we’ve been a little quiet on the podcast front recently, but that’s because we’ve been busy working away behind the scenes on something exciting.

Our Community Engagement Co-ordinator, Gary, and Digital Comms Lead, Bec, have teamed up to create a podcast that’s more interactive, more engaging, and puts people living with SMA right at the heart of every episode.

We’re keeping the bits you loved from our original podcast, while adding some fun new features, from listener participation and guest voices, to on-the-ground research and real-life stories.

The team behind the podcast…

Working behind the scenes is Gary and Bec, the team bringing the podcast together from start to finish.

Gary is our Community Engagement Co-ordinator from Gloucester and your first point of contact as a guest. With his lived experience of SMA Type 3, he helps shape episode ideas and keeps the SMA community at the heart of every episode. He’s into rugby, F1 and anything fast-paced!

Bec is our Digital Communications Lead, based just outside Manchester. She’s the creative mind behind the scenes, pulling ideas together, shaping episodes and working on edits. She’s a big reader, a book blogger, and usually has her dog Milo close by!

Although you may not see them in the actual episodes, they’ll be right by your side throughout the whole process!
