“Hi Everyone! My name’s Gary Edgecombe and I have recently been lucky enough to join the SMA UK team as the new Community Services Officer! What a team I’ve joined, everyone has been so welcoming, and it’s been amazing to see all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at the charity. Not only that, but as someone who has SMA Type 3, it’s been interesting for me to learn more about myself and the condition I live with.

This is my first time working for a charity and I’m excited to be alongside the people that have worked so hard to raise awareness for my condition. I will be working on all community-based events as well as the ‘Living With SMA’ podcast which hopefully brings the things both you and I want to know about SMA in to the conversation. I’m looking forward to meeting you all at our face-to-face events throughout the year and hopefully I’ll get to chat to some of you as guests on the podcast!”
