Rob recently applied for SMA UK’s SMArt Moves 2 Grant to cover repairs for his son Oli’s powerchair. Oli’s chair needed new caster bearings, tyres, and a swing-away joystick costing £478 in total. Through SMArt Moves 2 SMA UK were able to cover the cost, and Rob was able to get the repairs done quickly.
Rob shared, “I couldn’t believe how easy it was to apply, and the documents were simple and easy to sort out.” He was especially thankful for how fast the grant process was: “We didn’t expect the application to be looked at so quickly, let alone for it to be agreed and the payment to be made within a couple of weeks of applying. We are so grateful for this.”
The grant came at the perfect time, just as Oli was returning to school for his GCSEs. SMArt Moves 2 aims to help families cover things such as the high costs of powerchair repairs, replacement batteries and much more, ensuring independence and mobility for everyone.
