Changes in Our Activities due to Covid-19

Support Services

Our key focus is to keep you up-to-date with information via this section of our website and social media. Our Support Services team (currently working from home) is here to support you and talk things through, and help you find answers to questions - find out more. The best way to contact us is to email or phone 01789 267 520; we are picking up messages three times a day and can arrange to call you back.

If you’re not already part of a supportive virtual network, consider joining one. More information is here.

All our SMA UK ‘meet-up’ events for families and adults have been cancelled until further notice, apart from our South-East Family Meet-Up which has a provisional date of 25th October. We have also cancelled our spring edition of SMA Matters but hope we will be bringing you an autumn edition.

We will continue to send out multisensory toypacks for
infants up to 12 months of age.

We have cancelled all Fundraising events and are supporting people who had signed up to take part in sponsored activities to reschedule or cancel. Our Fundraising team is still here if you wish to discuss any ideas and plans you have; please call Caroline on 07436 793587.

We will be focussing on applying for funding from Trusts and Foundations to help us continue operating.

We appreciate what a difficult time this is for the SMA Community and you may not be able to support us at this time. However, if you would like to make a donation, we would be incredibly grateful. You can make your donation here. Thank you.

Marathon in May for SMA is our virtual event where you can cover the distance of a marathon your way – walk, roll, run or cycle. This has been a fantastic fundraiser for SMA UK for the past two years although we do appreciate that this year’s Marathon in May will raise less due to Covid-19. However, if you think this would be a good challenge to take part in alone, or with the people in your household, and you can do this safely, we would be happy to send you a pack. Again, we appreciate that you may not feel able to fundraise for it this year, but we would be happy to send a pack anyway as an activity to do at this difficult time.
