Call on the Chancellor to End Child Poverty

10 February 2021

We’re one of 80+ organisations to have signed a statement in support of people meeting their MP virtually this week. This is to call on the Chancellor to put #ChildrenAtTheHeart of a budget to #EndChildPoverty.

We are urging the UK Government to use the forthcoming budget to set out a plan to end child poverty with a serious and immediate commitment to put more money in the pockets of hard-pressed families. A crucial first step along this road must be to keep - and extend to legacy benefits - the £20-a-week uplift in Universal Credit.

This generation faces unprecedented threats to their childhoods and life chances, so we're asking the Government to put services for children and young people at the heart of this year's Comprehensive Spending Review.
