SMA UK Joins Other Groups Advocating for Early Access to COVID-19 Vaccines for our Communities
23 November 2020
The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) set out its interim guidance on priority groups for Covid vaccination in September 2020, though it was emphasised that it is still possible there could be some revisions to the order of priority.
Last week, we joined the Neurological Alliance, Genetic Alliance UK, Contact, The Disabled Childrens Partnership, MDUK and Angelman UK, and wrote to the JCVI expressing that clinically vulnerable children and adults and their families / carers / personal assistants should also feature as priority groups under the current early access proposals.
We also asked what approach the JCVI and government is taking to find an appropriate vaccine for children, particularly children living with long-term conditions.
